Our smock dresses are cut from the same narrow-strip cloth as the men's smocks: strips woven by hand in Northern Ghana and joined edge to edge, so the stripes run with the strips from shoulder to hem. The bodice has cap sleeves and an embroidered yoke that fastens with a knot button at the neck; a rope belt marks the waist, and the pleated A-line skirt falls to the knee with a patch pocket on each hip. Cut loose through the bodice and belted, so one size drapes across most adult builds.
