Women's Smocks

The batakari, cut as a dress. Each Gh Pro Fugu smock dress starts as narrow strips woven in northern Ghana, the same cloth as our men's smocks. It comes in three cuts: a flared dress with a rope belt and hip pockets, a straight kaftan trimmed with tassels or fringe, and a wide boubou that falls to the ankle or the floor. On the flared dress, the bodice has cap sleeves and an embroidered yoke that fastens with a knot button at the neck. A thin rope belt marks the waist. Below it, the pleated A-line skirt falls to the knee, with a patch pocket on each hip. Fifteen colourways. Sizes S to XXL.
