Green is the least codified color in the range, and that is the argument for it.
Black belongs to funerals. White and gold belong to the couple. Indigo carries three centuries of Daboya behind it. Green carries almost none of that freight, which means a green smock is one of the few you can wear to any occasion without a single person reading a message into it. Choose it because you like it. That is the whole reasoning and it is enough.
It also happens to be the color that solves a problem most men have with the garment: a fugu is a lot of cloth, and on a person who is not already used to wearing one, a bright ground can feel like a costume. Forest Green, $199. Deep, matte, the easiest green to own.
Emerald Green, $205. Brighter and cooler. It reads well under artificial light, which is where most evening photographs are taken.
Kelly Green, $209. The loudest of the three solids, and genuinely a summer garment.
Olive Check, $235. Presidential Elite. Olive ground with the check worked fine and dense, and the one to buy if you want ceremonial construction without ceremonial color.
Olive & Gold, $235. Gold inlay against olive. Unexpected, and the piece people ask about most often.

One note on how green photographs. Deep greens absorb light and can go flat or slightly grey in a phone photo taken indoors. Get outside, or into window light, and the cloth comes back. That is true of the fabric generally, not a fault of the dye.
